Memorial Day 2008

On September 30th, 2007 the members of Truck Co.

moved into their almost completed quarters.

On Saturday, October 7th, 2006 The Officers, members and Building Committee members of R.H. L. & No. 1 had their "groundbreaking" ceremony to mark the beginning of the construction of their new facility. Present were Senator Dean Skelos,  Assemblyman Bob Barra, Town of Hempstead Councilman Antony Santino, Lynbrook Trustee Bill Hendrick, & Louis Bieler, President of LGB Development, the prime contractor of the project.

The firehouse has been and will continue to be privately owned by the firefighters, NOT THE VILLAGE, since 1884.

Rescue Hook, Ladder & Bucket Co. No. 1 is committed to remaining an independent, member-owned facility, which helps keep the Fire Fighting Tax Base in Lynbrook low.

Your continued financial support is

 needed and greatly appreciated.

Fire insurance payments covered roughly half the cost of rebuilding. The rest of the funding will come from a large mortgage and the generous donations of you, our friends and neighbors.

Since 1884 our brother firefighters have manned this firehouse through fires, blizzards, hurricanes, tornados, and other emergencies, both natural and man made. We have willingly put our lives on the line without personal regard.

Please help us continue to serve our neighbors in the Village of Lynbrook and our neighboring communities when called for another 126 years. Thank you. Please visit our "Thank You" page to see of list of generous donors. We would love to see your name there too!
